I've been waiting for this day....

I was almost attacked by a GINORMOUS cockroach this morning. I've been waiting for this day. I've been tip toeing around with shoes on everywhere I go in this room because I knew the disgusting devil was waiting for the perfect opportunity. Boy, did it pick the perfect day. Of course, Denis doesn't have a lunch break today so from 8am - 4pm I won't be able to use the bathroom in our room. That's right, I won't shower, brush my teeth, or go to the bathroom here until he gets back murders it. It's like it knows.

Overreacting you ask? Why no, I don't think I am. If you know me then you would know that I use to call my brother/dad on my cell phone at 3am in the morning to come kill a spider on the wall opposite of my bed so I could sleep. You would know that two nights ago I screamed bloody murder because something flew into me and I could feel it's wings flapping. You would also know that about once a week I have night terrors about bugs...dropping on my head, crawling on my arm, creeping all over in my bed, etc. And my dream bugs aren't even half the size of the cockroach that almost took my life this morning. I was going to take a picture of it so you would all believe me...but I couldn't come within 5 ft of the bathroom before my muscles froze and the gagging started.

So it's the first big set back here in the South, do I still like it? You might not think so if you saw me crying on my bed while texting Denis this morning because of "it", but I do. I like that my hero will come home today and search every inch of the bathroom and then after walk me into the bathroom and show me that everything is okay. And that will make it all okay, because I'm still with Denis.

You'll have to excuse me now, I'm going to drive to a gas station to use the bathroom. (If you think I'm joking, then you really don't know me...)

I'm here! I'm in the South ya'll! So far, so good. I got to Alabama last night at 9pm. It was very strange seeing Denis after a month being away from him. We both just kept looking at each other like, "Are you for real?" And since we've been talking on the phone, our voices sounded way different in person, so we had to get use to that! But it didn't take long to get back into the grove of when Denis went in the bathroom today and I heard, "GRRRR! You put the toilet paper on backwards!!" Haha, I just know his missed all my annoying habits.

Today, I woke up at 6am to go watch Denis play Icarus (it's kinda like dodge ball on crack), sat by some wife-O's, but didn't talk to them much. I know it will just take time to get to know them a little more. During lunch Denis and I went and ran a bunch of errands to get me all settled in...I have a military ID card now! After lunch one of the wife-O's that we know from BYU ROTC called and asked if I wanted to go shopping, it was way fun. I'm really glad she called or I would have been sitting in our room, thanks Adrienne!

It's hot, but I LOVE it so far. It might get on my nerves later on, but my hair is really soft, my skin is soft and I love wearing summer clothes! It's sticky though...humidity, gotta love it.

I'm starting to think I'll be okay here...until I see a cockroach, then it might be a different story ;)

We're not homeless!

Guess what?! We got a house! Denis talked to the housing people at Tyndall yesterday and we found out our address and all about our new home. I cant imagine living in an actual's gonna be awesome. Our house is a year old, has three bedrooms, a two car garage, a yard, a back porch, and also the essential things like walls and a roof.

I'm getting really excited to start a new adventure with the person I love the most and to fill our home with children! Okay that made it sound like I was pregnant, I'm not...I'm really not, but someday i will be. However, I am a litte nervous about making new friends...I guess I will always have the alligators, sharks, bears, and cockroaches to talk to right?
